The USDA announced back in July, it would remove soybeans of other colors (SBOC) as an official grade-determining factor for US soybeans. For years, Cornelius Seed Soybean Lead, Will Cornelius, has shown a slide informing growers that the shaded coloring they might see on our P3 Genetics Enlist E3 soybean varieties at harvest is not disease but rather natural compounds occurring in the soybean seed. Some of these soybeans when taken to the elevators, have failed to be certified as No. 1 and No. 2 Yellow Soybean. This has affected their marketability and value at export.
This became effective September 1, 2023.
